Cardiac Nursing

Cardiac care nurses monitor and help patients suffering from a different of heart problems or conditions. This may include patients with coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure, or patients recovering from angioplasty or bypass operations. Heart patients experience three extremely special conditions during hospitalization -- Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Progressive Coronary Care Unit (PCCU) and the Emergency Room (ER). Cardiac care nurses monitor the hearts of patients of all ages and may assist prescribe cardiac medications and perform stress-test evaluations on a daily basis or take care of more severe heart issues, such as helping with defibrillation. Cardiac nurse is working closely with a cardiologist to improve standard cardiac treatment. Cardiac disease is one of the leading causes of mortality throughout the world and with advances in cardiac care technology and the growing elder population, cardiovascular nurses care are in high demand.
