Primary Care Nursing

Primary health care is considered the first level of medical care. Primary nurses work in a variety of settings, each sharing the characteristics that they are part of the first level of contact with the health system. Primary care nurses must be skilled in a variety of basic daily nursing procedures. As a primary care nurse, you are most likely to interact with patients on a regular basis. Working as a primary care nurse can be a little less stressful than working as a different type of nursing professional. Primary care nurses are most often employed in physician offices and outpatient clinics. However, these nurses are also hired by hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Primary care nurses take basic recordings and tests, measuring things like height, weight and blood pressure. They are also responsible for a lot of direct patient care, including treatment of patients after initial diagnosis.
